According to MetService, a high pressure system is expected to move slowly across northern New Zealand during Labour Weekend, bringing sunny and mild weather.

“It’s a high for the holiday weekend,” commented MetService Weather Ambassador, Bob McDavitt.  “The anticyclone is expected to arrive on Friday and clear away the cool showery southwesterly winds by Friday night. Then generally fine weather and light winds are forecast to prevail over most of the nation until early next week.”

Day time temperatures are expected to peak on Sunday and Monday with many places getting to 20C or more.  “Just right for taking a picnic break,” added McDavitt. “Remember to check the UV levels on our web site and protect accordingly.”

Anyone intending to enjoy the outdoors is reminded to check the MetService weather forecasts beforehand.  Latest updates are available on the website, and, for mobiles, on .
