After extensive consultation with Santa’s aviation elves, MetService has been able to confirm that Santa and his reindeer have been cleared for take-off on Christmas Eve as planned, despite the chaotic weather that has led to airport shutdowns and travel chaos across Europe and in the UK.

“We are pleased to confirm  that Santa will be able to safely depart on time,” said MetService Weather Ambassador, Bob McDavitt.  “Recent snow storms around the North Pole are not likely to pose much of a problem for such an experienced flight crew, but Rudolph’s nose will be on its ‘extra bright’ setting just in case.  Wet and windy conditions around southern and central New Zealand are forecast to clear away in time for the annual Christmas flight.”
