CEO of MetService to Depart for NZ Post Role

December 16, 2010

After four years at the helm of MetService, Chief Executive Paul Reid has announced his departure to take up a new role with New Zealand Post Group.

Reid recently announced to MetService staff that after much consideration, he had decided to accept an offer to move to New Zealand Post.  Having steered MetService through a period of considerable change and expansion over the last four years, Reid said a unique opportunity at New Zealand Post was “just too interesting a challenge to turn down.”

Reid will join New Zealand Post’s Executive Team as Group General Manager of its new Innovation and Technology Division from March next year.

Sarah Astor, Chairman of MetService’s Board of Directors, said MetService’s directors and staff were saddened to be losing such a strong leader from MetService, but very supportive of Reid’s move and wished him the best for his new endeavour.

“Paul has achieved a considerable amount in his time as CEO of MetService and we owe him a great deal,” said Astor.  “The company has gone from strength to strength under his control, transforming itself into a modern, highly effective and increasingly profitable State-Owned Enterprise.  Paul has led the organisation through a substantial culture change and has driven our international expansion, while at the same time consolidating and growing our position here in New Zealand.  MetService has a lot to thank Paul for.”

Astor said that recruitment for a replacement CEO for MetService will begin immediately and Reid continues to be fully operational in his role until his departure in early March.
